PNM Resources unit files smart meter settlement in Texas

EBR Staff Writer Published 10 June 2011

Texas – New Mexico Power (TNMP), a subsidiary of PNM Resources, has filed a proposed settlement with the Public Utility Commission of Texas regarding its request to recover the costs of installing an advanced metering system throughout its service area.

The settlement is expected to allow for the recovery of $113.4m, including $66.3m of capital, through a surcharge during the next 12 years.

Pending the commission approval, TNMP will install about 240,000 meters beginning this year through 2016.

US-based PNM Resources is an energy holding company and TNMP is its transmission and distribution utility in Texas.
